Lessons Learned :: an exec team ritual

I’ve now been a part of three executive teams. Each had their own nuance, strengths, weaknesses, and rituals.

My current team is the CareerPlug team.

During my tenure here I’ve learned a ton. EOS, being truly values driven, rumbling with tough decisions, what supportive management looks like, what teamwork in the workplace can be, and much more. One of the rituals that makes this company, and this team a great team to be a part of is the fact that we reflect to improve.

We have a daily standup as an exec team to ensure we are all in sync and nothing slips between the cracks. On Tuesdays we have a special format:

  • One lesson learned or affirmed last week (based off a win or challenge)
  • Goal(s) for this week (2 max)
  • What blockers could prevent you from achieving those goals?

I really love the lesson learned. So, I’m going to try and write down my lesson learned (and ones from my teammates if I get their permission) weekly.

Because of this wonderful platform, I’ll be able to go back and view the links/lessons easily.

Let’s go!
