ProdDev: Difference between long lists and a nice-to-have epic

Long lists are a never ending collection of things you want to do at some point in your app. I hate them because they are almost immediately out-of-date, impossible to keep fresh, and just makes the team feel bad, because seeing carries a weight.

However, when you are doing a big project (longer than a 12 week appetite), there are times when you have stuff you’d like to do, but only if there is time, or in a near-future iteration. These epics I dig because it allows us to capture them without bogging down the epics that we are working on currently.

I do think the nice-to-have list should either be prioritized and done or be archived once the project is over and the team decides if they are going to do another iteration.
