Carnival
A central theme is the necessity of “wasting” some capital in order to avoid unsustainable growth.
If growth capital is allowed to accumulate unchecked, it will produce more than can be recycled, reused, or otherwise contained in a closed-loop, self-sufficient system.
Of course, he doesn’t advocate actually wasting capital by, say, throwing finished goods into the sea. Rather, he advocates directing excess capital into culture, carnival, and community.
