journaling methods

intro

long story short, i’m kinda late to journaling. sorta. kinda? i kinda began considering it more seriously in the last 3-4 years in some recognition that i’ve not been logging my life. or at least not … making my thoughts and experiences more ‘physical’, even if just journalling digitally—taking them out of my brain, and putting them somewhere in words.

i take photos of places and events, but they are often lost in my photo library. sometimes they escape onto tumblr—if they’re simple enough and don’t identify me. but otherwise they rot somewhere.

i could argue my tumblr is a journal, but it was always very scattered.

so far, these are the things I’ve tried:

digital journaling

ah digital journaling … one of the things i was excited to have an iPad for (i did get it for art, but it was a nice bonus in concept to also journal); because i took my iPad to work then, it was easier to write in the slow moments at work. i kinda wish i could do it again bahaha, but i think my work would look at me very weirdly.

(work in progress … tl;dr i like digital journaling but it’s cumbersome because of the ipad size. handy to have stickers and images and not need the actual physical stuff otherwise)

(niche but it helps to have non-physical spots that also have some interactive elements)
