🟢 (3) I'm actively looking to Reward them (with more Responsibility/Autonomy/Compensation) I feel like a Partner... I'm maximally engaged and couldn't imagine life without pursuing this mission with these people
🔵 (2) I'm praising them / I trust they will do their job well, consistently I'm highly optimistic, but I feel like employee, not a true Partner. However, I'm not open to alternative employment offers/chats.
🟣 (1) I'm actively coaching them on a few unmet needs I have. They must do better in some areas or with consistency. I'm an optimistic employee, but there are some troubling signs and I would listen to offers/chats if they come my way

🟡 (-1) I'm monitoring after delivering verbal warning of a need for improvement I'm slightly optimistic, BUT my resume is recently updated and I'm passively looking
🟠 (-2) I'm monitoring after delivering written warning of a need for improvement I'm all-but-hopeless, and am actively looking while still performing my duties well
🔴 (-3) I'm monitoring after delivering Performance Improvement Plan I was so hopeless, I had to quit before finding my next thing. I'm obviously, actively looking

Hey Employee… Do you know where you stand with your manager?

Hey Manager… Do you know where your employee stands?

If the answer is Hell No… I’m sorry, that feels awful. I worry about your culture. Are you working to change this?

If the answer is kind of… great… is this enough for you or do you need more clarity? Do you feel safe enough to ask for more clarity?

If the answer is Hell Yes I know… wow… you are what we all strive for. Kudos. How did/do y’all do it?!
